Most people on EaglesEntry are here to hire or to be hired. When someone’s contact is unwelcome, you can block them yourself without waiting for us. Blocking is between two people: a candidate and a recruiter, or two recruiters. Companies and their jobs are never blocked.
When you block a person
- Neither of you can poke the other or open the other’s profile in Candidate Discovery.
- They stop appearing to you as a person: a recruiter’s hiring-team card disappears from jobs they post, their invitations disappear, and a candidate drops out of a recruiter’s Discovery list.
- We stop suggesting you to each other.
- The block is immediate. In most cases we don’t tell the person you blocked them.
- Only you can unblock them. After you unblock someone, you wait 48 hours before you can block them again.
What doesn’t change
- Jobs belong to companies, not to the recruiter who posted them. If you block a recruiter you still see the company’s jobs and can apply to them.
- Applications are permanent records. An application you already sent stays with the company, and the recruiter who posted the job still sees it in their applicant list.
- Emails the company sends about an application (thank-you, outcome) are company messages and still arrive.
- Anything public stays public: a company page, a job posting.
Blocking and company pages
A recruiter can’t block the owner of their own company page while they belong to it, because the owner manages the page’s members. Leave the page first (ask the owner to remove you), then block.
Note: Blocking is different from reporting. A block is your choice and needs no reason. A report asks EaglesEntry to look at behaviour that may break our Professional Community Policies. You can do both.
